RIA4FOOD at the GreenNutriFood Congress

Prof. Dan Vodnar’s team proudly participated in the 1st International Congress on Sustainable Food, Green Chemistry and Human Nutrition (GreenNutriFood), a landmark event dedicated to advancing science for a healthier and more sustainable future.

The team presented part of the results from Work Package 2 of the RIA4FOOD project, focusing on the in vitro and extended colonic digestion of sea buckthorn. The research shed light on the bioaccessibility and bioavailability of its bioactive compounds, a critical step in understanding how this nutrient-rich plant can support human health. Sea buckthorn, rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and other bioactive compounds, shows significant promise in the development of functional foods. By studying its digestive behavior, researchers aim to unlock its full potential for nutrition and well-being. This contribution reflects our commitment to sustainable nutrition and bioactive compound research, while fostering dialogue and collaboration with fellow scientists. We are grateful for the engaging discussions and knowledge exchange that took place during the congress and look forward to building on these connections in future research.
